A teleclinic for medical cannabis. No tech team. Twelve weeks to launch.

How we built a complete telehealth platform — patient portal, doctor console, e-prescriptions, and 300+ pharmacy integrations — in 90 days.

The Challenge

Materia Deutschland, an established German medical cannabis distributor, wanted to build an entirely new business: a digital teleclinic. Patients would register online, consult with doctors via video, receive digital prescriptions, and have medication delivered from integrated pharmacies.

The market was growing fast and they needed to move faster. Hiring and managing individual developers wasn't an option — they needed a partner who could own the full solution, work on an equal level, and deliver something they could trust from day one.

Germany's cannabis regulations were evolving rapidly, and competitors were already building. They needed a production-ready platform in three months — not a prototype, not an MVP, but a real system that could handle patients, prescriptions, and pharmacy logistics at launch.

The Solution

We started with a 4-hour Discovery Workshop to map every requirement: patient flows, doctor workflows, prescription rules, pharmacy API specs, and regulatory constraints. Within 48 hours, the client had a complete scope, technical architecture, and a fixed-price proposal with a clear timeline.

A dedicated team of 2 developers and 1 designer started the build immediately. Every Friday, the client saw a live demo of that week's progress — not slides or status reports, but working software. Technical decisions were explained in plain language so the team at Materia could make informed choices without needing to understand the code.

The platform was built on GDPR-compliant cloud infrastructure hosted in Germany, with qualified electronic signatures (QES) for legally binding digital prescriptions — a critical requirement for operating in Germany's regulated health space.

The platform launched on schedule and began serving patients immediately. The team at Materia could focus on growing the new teleclinic business — hiring doctors, expanding into new regions, and building patient trust. The full codebase, documentation, and deployment scripts were handed over, giving them complete independence.
“We asked Alex and his team to design, build and execute a Telehealth platform, which he delivered in the timeline as pre-defined in a very efficient manner, both in deliveries and communication. The architecture is highly solid and running smooth on all ends having led to a great product for us.”
